Your thoughts and emotions have the power to create and to destroy. They both create your reality, so if you want to change it, you first have to change the dynamics inside of yourself.

1. Monitor your thoughts
You can’t be positive if you’re having lots of negative thoughts every day. First comes thought and then follows an emotion. Together they create your reality. Every thought and emotion matters. The thoughts and emotions that you’ve been experiencing until now have to lead you to the exact place that you are today.
You have to monitor your inner dialog all the time. And whenever you start thinking something negative, stop yourself immediately and change those thoughts into positive and empowering ones.
Because if you don’t, those thoughts will evoke emotions of fear, lack, anxiety, anger, and together these thoughts and emotions will shape your reality.
I once watched a video where a 29-year old millionaire woman was talking about her path to success and her struggle in overcoming negative thoughts and beliefs.
That woman said that when she first started, she would set an alarm for every 20 minutes, and after those 20 would pass, she would sit there and think about everything she thought about during those 20 minutes.
And although she tried not to think anything negative, she still had a lot of negative thoughts, that would lead to feelings of lack and fear.
What’s interesting is that achieving success and becoming rich for her was the easiest thing she ever did, however, learning to monitor her thoughts was the hardest thing. And she is sure that there was a direct correlation between her success and the patterns of thinking.
2. Monitor your emotions
Whenever you start feeling fear, anxiety or feel depressed, do something immediately to shift that, because you need to start being positive as fast as possible.
It could be meeting with your friends, go shopping, going to the gym, to the spa, or just doing anything that will make you feel good and will not allow you to entertain those negative emotions.
3. Visualize your success
You probably have heard about visualizing your dreams, as if you have achieved them already, this way making them happen in your reality.
The interesting thing is that most of the very successful people do visualize. And they have visualized every day for years.

What does visualization have in common with positive thinking?
When you start your day positive, you’re on the right track for the rest of the day.
I’ve been practicing visualization in the mornings for about 4 months already. And I can tell you that those days that I skipped visualization, were the days that I was negative and felt weak and sad.
Visualization has actually two powers – one is the power to change your reality, and another is the power to uplift you and make you more happy and positive.
As I said, for an effective visualization you must feel passionate emotions, such as gratitude, happiness, and joy. These emotions send a signal to your subconscious mind that the event that you are visualizing has already taken place.
And by feeling those emotions you’re naturally becoming a more positive and happy person.
Emotional vibration scale
In the emotional vibration scale happiness, love, joy, gratitude have the highest vibrations, while anger, sadness, anxiety, etc. have the lowest vibrations. When you are feeling those high vibration emotions (whether they come naturally to you or through visualization) there is no room left for negative, low vibration emotions.
So do this technique as the first thing in the morning, while you’re still lying in your bed, and do it constantly – every single morning. You’ll soon notice a big change in your life and your well-being.
4. Be grateful
Gratitude is a very powerful emotion. Not only it has one of the highest vibrations in the emotional vibration scale, but it also has the power to accumulate more of that what you feel grateful for.
Start your day feeling grateful. And if anything negative does happen to you, just focus on the things that you’re grateful for.
And also think about how that negative event can be positive for you, how can you make it positive. A lot of times it actually turns out to be better for you – it’s a blessing in disguise.
5. Stop surrounding yourself with negative people
If you’re surrounded by negative people, that don’t believe in you or your dreams, that are naysayers, this will definitely affect you.
What I “discovered” is that probably every person that is successful and rich today, in the past heard other people telling them that they are not good enough. But those other people were only expressing their own limitations and their limiting beliefs about themselves.
So to still have the strength to follow your dreams when everyone around is negative, you have to block yourself from that negative energy. You have to stop interacting with those negative people. Otherwise, they will eventually let you down and negative thoughts will seep into your mind, making you doubt yourself.
There are many ways other people can express negativity that can affect you. Whether it’s about you, your potential, and your success, or about the lack in any form – money, happiness, etc., never listen to such people. Only spend your time with positive and successful ones, people that uplift you and inspire you.
If you don’t like the reality that you live in, you have to change your mentality, and you have to cut off people that tell you negative things or make you feel low. Because if you want to change your life, you have to change your thoughts and emotions that you experience every day.
6. Never fall asleep with the TV on
There are so many negative and cruel things being shown on TV, like thrillers, horror movies, documentaries, and TV series. And if you sleep with that being on in the background, your subconscious mind will absorb everything in. Because when you sleep your subconscious mind is so much more receptive to suggestions.
I heard very good advice from one successful person. At night she likes to put on meditations on YouTube that last for 8-10 hours and are auto-suggesting thoughts that are powerful, uplifting, positive, motivating.
So I started doing the same. I just search for “abundance meditation 8 hours”, and it really helps to fall asleep and to wake up with positive thoughts.
What’s more, those suggestive meditations can plant positive suggestions in your mind. And you don’t want to lose 8 hours in reprogramming your mind, especially when your subconscious mind is more receptive to suggestions.

Be consistent in monitoring your thoughts, emotions, feeling grateful, starting your mornings positively, and blocking yourself from negative vibes.
Just as you’ve been consistent with negative thoughts, be consistent with positive ones. Monitor your negative thoughts and emotions and look if there are any patterns to them – problems that should be solved.
For example, if your negative thoughts are being caused directly by a specific person, or a specific situation in your life, you must do everything to cut off that person and to get yourself out of that situation.
When you start loving yourself and prioritizing your own well-being and happiness, that’s when the real magic happens and everything falls into place.
