This homemade shea butter lotion is made with wonderful natural ingredients such as shea butter, coconut oil, vitamin E oil and lavender essential oil. These ingredients moisturize and nourish the skin, have anti-aging properties and protect the skin from free radicals.

Shea Butter
Shea butter moisturizes dry skin, makes it soft and smooth. It contains several types of fatty acids that nourish the skin and improve the skin’s natural barrier. Moreover, it is loaded with antioxidants that protect the skin from from damage from the environment like pollutants.
Coconut Oil

What you need
Ingredients
- Unrefined shea butter (where to get it)
- Coconut oil (where to get it)
- 10-15 drops lavender essential oil (where to get it)
- 5 drops vitamin E oil (where to get it)
Tools and Equipment
- Double boiler (where to get it)
- Hand mixer (where to get it)
- Mason jar for storage (where to get it)
Directions
- Add 3/4 cup of shea butter and 1/4 cup of coconut oil into a double boiler and place it on the stove over low heat. If you don’t have a double boiler, you can make your own double boiler system by placing a glass bowl over a pot of boiling water.
- Stir gently until everything is melted.
- Place the bowl in the refrigerator for about 20 minutes to get thickened. You want the ingredients to become firm enough so you can use a hand mixer.
- Add 10-15 drops of lavender essential oil and 5 drops of vitamin E oil.
- Mix the lotion with a hand mixer until it becomes fluffy (for about 3 minutes).
- Pour the mixture in a glass container.
- Apply daily on the skin after shower.
